Introducing the Heart-Led Artist Journey
It's my birthday today, and I'm celebrating a new beginning, introducing my brand new passion project, the Heart-Led Artist Journey. It's not an online course, it's a new way of sharing the artist's process and offering encouragement and insight to artists of all levels & artistic disciplines.
I used to think that I needed to focus on watercolour technique, and sneak in the life-as-art lessons that really excited me; what I was learning, seeing and experiencing and why it impacted my art. In the Heart-Led Artist Journey, I've stopped sneaking around. This is my life and my art combined. One artist's life - the girl who wasn't sure she could be an artist. The girl who stopped waiting for an invitation and just decided to make something she could love.
What’s in the Heart-Led Artist Journey?
I realized over the years that while it’s easy to turn on a studio camera and record my painting process, starting in the studio only shows a small part of the story of a painting. My art begins with me, and my life informs my art. In the Heart-Led Artist Journey, every month I’ll be bringing you into my artist’s life, walking the trails behind my home, traveling to teach art workshops, experiencing nature and life and finding art in the process.
Every month, members of the Heart-Led Artist Journey will receive a 45-60 minute video sharing an experience that informs my art, and the process of developing a painting that comes out of that experience. It’s an honest, humble look at how art and life don’t get to be compartmentalized; what we see, hear and feel fuels our art. In addition to the experience and process video, I’ll be checking in weekly with tips and techniques to help you apply what I’m learning to your own unique artistic practice. This will happen in the form of video lessons, livestream video, worksheets and exercises to help you grow. Book recommendations, a “classroom week” where you are invited to share what you’re learning each month, and guest artist video sessions as well.
The Journey project is a monthly subscription model, so you can join now (and take advantage of a special introductory offer) and stay as long as you like. Each month’s content is archived so you can revisit sessions as often as you like during your membership.
